The Nest

The concept for my project is the nest. The concept aligns with James Wines’ vision for this structure as it embodies natural elements and architecturally blends itself with the park landscape. As well, Madison Square Park is home to over 112 species of birds and where bird watching has become an increasingly popular activity, the concept fits seamlessly for the project and embodies Shake Shack’s mission to be something of its place.

It symbolizes rebirth and freedom. Rebirth as it represents Shake Shack’s afterlife into a bus shelter. Freedom as it represents the users of the space and their free paths of their days that led them to the nest. Both Rebirth & freedom denote to the nest being where birds are born and freedom representing their wings and their nest-making patterns.
